Candle Burning Instructions
Candle Care + Safety

-
The first burn of your candles is the most important! Wax holds memory from the first time it is lit. We recommend burning your candle for at least 2.5 - 3 hours the first time you light it, or 1 hour for every inch of diameter of the container. If this step does not occur your candle will most likely tunnel.

-
Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours, this will prevent carbon from forming on the wick which creates black soot on your jar.

-
Use your candle lid or a snuffer to distinguish your candle's flame to keep it burning clean and prevent tunneling.

-
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.

-
Follow the 2 2-foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains, or anything flammable.

-
Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents.

-
Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch each time before you light your candle. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large and keeps your candle burning at its best!

-
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

-
Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax.

-
Let your candle create a wax pool each time you light it. This will ensure the strongest fragrance possible!

-
Always read and follow manufacturers' directions for use and safety, and extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.

-
Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.

-
A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight.
